Hull Replacement and Upgrades for Fire and Rescue Victoria, by Penfold Marine

Project Scope: Our marine engineering team was contracted by Penfold Marine to perform extensive hull replacement and upgrade work on the Victoria Fire Boat. The project aimed to enhance the vessel’s structural integrity and operational efficiency by replacing and upgrading several critical components.

Key Tasks
  1. Hull Replacement Sections: We meticulously removed and replaced sections of the boat’s hull, ensuring seamless integration with the existing structure.
  2. Installation of Hull Inserts: New hull inserts were installed to reinforce the boat’s structural strength, providing added durability and resilience against harsh marine conditions.
  3. Replacement and Installation of Fuel Tanks: The outdated fuel tanks were replaced with new, custom-designed aluminium tanks, ensuring safer and more efficient fuel storage and distribution.
  4. Bulkhead Replacement: We installed new bulkheads to enhance the vessel’s internal framework, contributing to improved safety and structural stability.
  5. Installation of Freeman Hatches: High-quality Freeman hatches were installed for better accessibility and enhanced water-tight integrity.
Material Selection

Aluminium: Chosen for its lightweight, corrosion-resistant properties, aluminium was used extensively throughout the project to ensure longevity and performance under demanding conditions.
